The Design Academy is a support programme designed to support primary, secondary and special students through a design, make and model process.

 

With professional support from designers your pupils will create their own garments and collections for showcase at the annual Design Academy Fashion Show. 

 

The programme equips students with sewing, cutting and machining skills and the all important experience of working with creative industry professionals who bring direct contact and insight into Design and Fashion, thereby providing participants with a more comprehensive understanding of the fashion industry. 

 

The programme provides support in the following areas:

 

- CPD training for staff for schools already offering textiles and design opportunities

 

- Career and Industry day for pupils and staff to visit and learn from the professionals at a dedicated day to help pupils begin to chart their own development and identify their next steps

 

- Support for pupils preparing and choreographing their performance and showcase for the catwalk at the dress rehearsal

 

- Professional Fashion Show. Your chance to showcase your pupils' designs at the annual fashion show which include sponsorship and support from industry.
