Applications for The BFI Film Academy Introductory Course
2026-27 are now OPEN!
The programme runs on Saturdays between the 7th November 2026 - 30th January 2027 giving you the chance to develop professional level skills in film theory, specialist production skills and ends with you producing your own short film. Fully supported by industry professionals, this is your chance to get involved with the UK's most prestigious filmmaking programme for young people.
This year the course will take place at The Gibney Suite, Monks Road in the heart of the city of Lincoln with great access to parking and transport links.
During the course you will learn from professional filmmakers, watch and analyse world cinema and be supported to create your own film working as part of a production team!
The deadline for applications is 5pm on 10th October 2026
