Lincolnshire Children’s Festival is returning from Monday 3rd July – Friday 7th July 2017 and it’s time to book your space! Whether you choose dance, drama, spoken word, singing or music, the children will be sure to impress the crowds of Lincoln City Centre with their performances.

What is involved?

For those who are not aware of our event, 30 primary schools from across Lincolnshire will perform to the shoppers in Lincoln City Centre over 5 days. The Festival operates on a rotational basis, with one school performing, one school creating an audience, and the third participating in a free workshop. Each school will receive half an hour for their performance slot, which will take place under the shelter of our event marquees and 6 performances will take place every day.

There’s no theme so whatever you’re creating for school, just bring it along. We love the variety!

For 2017 we are working with our partners across the city to introduce new performance spaces as indicated below.

When?

Monday 3rd – Friday 7th July 2017.

You can choose from two time slots, either 10am to 11.30am, or 11.30am to 1.30pm (The 11.30am to 1.30pm slot will include a half hour break for lunch).

Where?

Performance locations will move each day within the City Centre.

Monday:         High Street

Tuesday:         St Marks Square

Wednesday:   Waterside Shopping Centre

Thursday:       Castle Hill

Friday:             High Street

Technical Information

The marquee will be wired with an outdoor sound system so accompaniment music can be played, with microphones and radio mics. Simply bring along your CD, memory stick or ipod for your backing music.

Performance Times

Your half hour performance slot will need to accommodate your set-up time so please let us know if you require extra time to set up, to allow us to allocate a sufficient time slot. We have entertainers on site so we can fill time if your group has a much shorter performance.

Audience

There will be benches around the performance area where another school will sit and watch your performance, and crowds of passing shoppers will also stop to enjoy the entertainment. You will also sit as an audience to another school’s performance, just as they have done for you. For many, this is a rare opportunity to see other schools perform.

What next?

Please complete the booking form, giving as much information as possible. However, if you do not know all of the information at this stage, for example your performance title, this can be decided within the next couple of months.  If you are very restricted on a time and date, please email me to check this is available before submitting your booking form.

Transport

Lincoln Business Improvement Group will be offering a contribution towards your transport costs again although there is a limited budget based on number of miles travel so please email or indicate your travel distance when you send your booking form so that we can then sort out these arrangements with you.  Jessica in the Lincoln BIG offices will arrange this for you.

If you need further details or have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Following receipt of all the booking forms I will be in contact again with confirmation arrangements, location maps, risk assessments and important dates for you.
